in nostalgia manila

a few days before christmas, the moderator behind nostalgia manila (a friend of mine and a fellow iskolar ng bayan from u.p. diliman) asked me a few questions about my childhood and adolescence in manila during the 1970s and 1980s. the online interview finally appeared this week. maraming salamat nostalgia manila for the great feature!

Look at all of you -- all summer-y and everything! I am envious. We expect 20 degrees F here tomorrow in Boston, Mass., USA.

Hey, Wendell,

I like these pictures. So lucky you --- we're FREEZING out here in California. They say it may even SNOW in a few hours, brrrrrr!

rhea, thanks for dropping by! it looks summery but sometimes the temperature hits 40C (104F). and there are forest fires in the victoria-australian capital territory border. the sky looks beautifully red but water supply is running short in the dams.

marianne!
being in the southern hemisphere, australian weather can be quirky. we celebrate christmas with barbecues by the lake or on the beach. i heard on good morning america about the freezing cali weather. even los angeles is freezing at times. hay. im dying to wrap up everything here so i can go back home and teach again. and occasionally visit family and friends like you in that part of the world again. hang in there. stay cool.
